🌟💙 MHES Students of the Month – KINDNESS MATTERS! 💙🌟
We are thrilled to celebrate our Kind Students of the Month here at MHES! These amazing Panthers consistently show compassion, respect, and a willingness to help others. Their positive attitudes and caring hearts make our school a better place every single day. 🐾✨
Whether they are including a classmate, offering a helping hand, using kind words, or simply sharing a smile — these students lead by example. Kindness is powerful, and they prove that small actions can make a BIG difference!
We are beyond proud of each of you for shining your light and spreading positivity throughout our pack. Keep leading with kindness! 💙🖤

WOW! What a month it has been here at MHES! We are incredibly proud to share the amazing accomplishments happening within our Panther Pack. 🐾
Representing our school as the 1st Place Winner in Raleigh County for the Young Writers Award (Grades 5–6) is Kelsi Bailey! 📚✍️
Earning 2nd Place for Grades 3–4 is Maddix Dillon. We are so proud of their creativity and hard work!
Next, we celebrate our outstanding County Social Studies Fair winners. Representing not only MHES but all of Raleigh County at the Regional level is Ira Bennett, who earned 1st Place in his division! 🌎🏆
Also demonstrating incredible skill and dedication are Liam Bennett and Faaizah Mubin, who both captured 2nd Place awards in their divisions. What an amazing accomplishment!
Last, but certainly not least, showing their Panther Pride are two of our fantastic third graders — Peyton Salmons and Baylee Barnett — who have made us so proud with their hard work and achievements.
Our students continue to shine, and we could not be prouder of the leadership, creativity, and excellence they display each and every day. Way to go, Panthers! 💙🖤

School Counseling Week is a timely reminder of the quiet, essential work happening in our schools every day.
This week, we recognize and thank our school counselors for the critical role they play in supporting students’ academic growth, social-emotional well-being, and future planning. Counselors are often the first to notice when a student is struggling—and the steady presence that helps them navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
From individual student support and crisis response to academic advising and career guidance, your work matters more than most people realize—and it truly changes lives.
If you see a school counselor today, take a moment to thank them.
Thank you to our school counselors for your compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to students. Our schools are stronger because of you.

Raleigh County Schools is proud to celebrate Trap Hill, Shady Middle, Liberty High, Ghent Elementary, Daniels Elementary, and Maxwell Hill Elementary for receiving PBIS Bronze Medals in recognition of their achievement of Bronze status!
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and commitment shown by all administrators, staff, and students who worked hard to earn this honor.
RCS will continue partnering with schools as we strive for 100% PBIS Bronze status across the district by the end of the 2025–2026 school year.
This year, we are also excited to begin rolling out Tier 2 PBIS practices as we move toward Silver status.
Congratulations to everyone involved—your hard work truly makes a difference!

Parents, we’ve got exciting cheer—
Starting 12/4, our Teacher Tree is here!
Stop by the office and take a peek,
Choose an ornament that’s teacher-unique.
Each color tells you where to start:
Orange – PreK, a joyful heart
Red – Kindergarten, bright and sweet
Green – 1st, where learning’s neat
Purple – 2nd, full of fun
Pink – 3rd, where wonders run
Blue & Yellow – 4th and 5th, shining bright
Pick your teacher’s color just right!
Our teachers made their lists (they checked them twice!),
Find one for your child’s teacher—something nice!
